Before discovering her genuine gift for creating perfumes, Annick Goutal used to dabble as a fashion model and a pianist. In 1981, Annick opened her first eponymous shop at rue de Bellechasse, Paris and back in her workshop, she pursued her love for beautiful raw materials. She soon made a name for herself, thanks to the originality of her creations, such as Eau d’Hadrien and Petite Cherie, which presaged the dawn of a unique olfactory adventure. At Annick Goutal, olfactory creations contain the rarest and noblest essences, almost all stemming from its natural origin, such as Sicilian lemon, Damascus rose, Italian iris and tuberose from Grasse. Raw materials were – and still are - chosen with the greatest care and extreme precision to achieve - note after note - the perfect harmony. Annick bequeathed her love of perfume to her daughter, Camille, and her lifelong colleague, Isabelle Doyen, both of whom have since become the house’s perfumers and creators of the new products.

Rouge Chaotique "I think there is something about night-time, it’s a different world of possibilities; a different version of who you are, a nocturnal sense of duality." - Ben Gorham, Creative Director & Founder, Byredo. The first oud gourmand fragrance in Byredo’s Night Veils collection, Rouge Chaotique takes personal inspiration from Ben Gorham’s belief that accepting the chaos within any creative process can result in singular forms of expression.
